Let's talk Birchbox! This review is dedicated to all those who are curious about the Birchbox subscription. I've been a Birchbox subscriber for a while now and I've kept a neat index of all the notecards I've ever received from them. It was a great way to keep track of what I received from Day 1 of my subscription. Since each notecard had a full description of every sample I've received, I figured why not, this way, even if I do use up the sample I have a reference for the product. I don't use all my samples all at once. I enjoy reaching for them when I'm in the mood to spoil myself, whether it's a relaxing facial treatment with their sample mask, or a spritz of their sample fragrance for that added touch to my look that day. I typically don't sample my boxes immediately nor all at once, but judging by the look of each month's box I'm rarely ever disappointed.
I was able to take some pictures today of my collection of samples. I've attempted to separate my skincare samples from my fragrance samples and makeup related samples with each photo. For the first image below, I've compiled all my skin care samples. This would include masks, mud masks, face wash, BB cream, serums, lotions and even shaving creams. After grouping them as such, I realized that most of my samples from Birchbox were heavily focused on skin care items. Unfortunately, this isn't the entire stock of samples from Day 1. I ended up using most of the luxurious body wash and face wash samples when I went on my Europe trip last January. These samples were the perfect travel size and I really wanted to stray from the generic brands because I was going on a little adventure. Pampering is a must when you're on vacation oversea. I've also gone through all of my samples of nutritious treats and tea sachets that came in my boxes. These images below are all the remaining samples I've accumulated over the months with Birchbox.
I chose Birchbox because I'm new to the world of cosmetics and at the time I wasn't committed to particular brands. This was my way of dipping my toes into the water and testing it out. Since I've started my Birchbox subscription, I've come a long way. I get to sort through my samples and find favorites that I've grown attached to, but I'm still open to trying new things, that's why I'm still a subscriber. I'm not the type of person that's looking to find one great item from one specific category and sticking to it indefinitely. I like the option of trying different types of mud masks or even facial cleanser every so often without having to commit to a full-size bottle. When I come across something that I have to have in my routines I like to splurge a little on the item and buy the full-size.

These images should give you a good idea of what Birchbox's sample sizes are like. Keep in mind that you will be making a beauty profile before you complete your subscription box. You can definitely specify which category of sample items you wish to only receive. I remember for my survey I specified that I only wanted to focus on skin products, a few makeup items and no more than six fragrance samples a year. Each box is tailored to the individual's interest. Rest assured if you are not content with your items after a box or two you do have the option to update your personal beauty profile. And if you have any further questions, the Birchbox customer service is amazing and super helpful, they'll gladly help you.
